I just bought this motor for my canoe and she looks almost new, with the exception that it needs a carb rebuild kit, and a plastic starter pion gear. (parts are discontinued from dealer) Does anyone know where I can possibly buy these and other parts. Thanks for your help!
 
I have a similar motor and went crazy with that weak starter pinion arrangement. Eventually I threw the wholething in the bin and machined down a large piston crown to make the kind of thing you used to find on old seagulls. there are three handy threaded holes on the top of the flywheel which took this beautifully. Now I just wind a starter cord around it three times and pull. Easey peasey. A bit inconvenient because you have to slip the cover back on while the thing is running...but what the heck, It runs!
