80's 20hp johnson no serial/model plate

I have an 80's white 20hp Johnson with a gas primer and a gearshift lever up front.
Missing serial plate. Successfully installed 1984 manual starter parts on it, but impeller a problem. Any idea on how to find model number other than by the serial plate? Any numbers on engine or casing maybe?

should be a circle of alum on the block somewhere about the size of a quarter, with numbers stamped in it, if you get that we should be able to help you.

there are only two water pumps for the 1980's 20hp
omc number 393630 sierra number 18-3382
or
omc number 395270 sierra number 18-3383

if you only need the impeller
omc number 395289 sierra number 18-3051

take you water pump or impeller with you to make sure you get the right part.

you can order sierra parts from most NAPA parts store.
