1964 40hp Johnson

Does anyone know how much water should be coming out of the discharge of a 1964 40 hp motor? Right now I have a little bit of water and steam.

if you have steam you are over heating, you need to check the water pump first, was it working good before this happened?

I dont remember it was last in water 2 years ago.
