no oil light and horn 2000 15hp

I have a 2000 150 johnson. Friday i went to go fishing and after going a short distance through the no wake zone powered up and got on plane and after about 30 seconds the no oil light and horn went off. I stopped the motor and re started it no alarms till I got on plane again. Now short
of a failed VRO pump what else could I be looking at?

Gotta ask, sorry: is there oil in the tank?

From my (limited) experience, Either the oil side of the pump isn't working, the sensor isn't working (which is part of the pump) or there is something preventing oil from getting from the tank to the pump. First thing I'd do is look at the entire oil system, hoses, connections, etc. all the way back to the pickup and filter inside the tank. Make sure the filter is clean, replace if necessary. Make sure there's no water or debris in the tank. If everything looks good, disconnect it up by the fuel pump, re-prime it thoroughly, reconnect and see if that helps.

Pre-mix your fuel 50:1 in the mean time until you're satisfied you fixed it.
