Converting 115 Johnson Jet to Prop

I have a 1994 Johnson jet outboard that I want to convert to a prop. I use the boat primarily for duck hunting and the jet drive is useless once the ice starts to form. I know there are kit out there to convert from prop to jet. I am curious how hard it is to go the other way. Would I need new controls or is it simply a matter of getting a new lower unit and performing the swap. Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

If it's an aftermarket conversion, all you need to do is get the correct l/u, install it, and change the cabling so that the shift cable goes to the shift linkage inside the cowling rather than down to the jet foot.

If it's a "factory" conversion, it might be more difficult as there might not be a shift linkage on the engine.

Do you know if this engine was sold originally as a jet or is it an aftermarket conversion?
