1998 225 dt power loss

At the end of last season while cruising at 4500 rpms one engine went into what ill call safe mode, down to 2000 rpms. After shutting it down and starting it up again it ran good 4200 rpms. The first time out this year it ran fine , second time it started pulsing and shut back down to 2000 rpms. I cant get it going any faster. No alarms, changed all fuel filters and will be changing the oil sensor this weekend. Anyone have any other ideas?
 
Look at the vst or fuel regulator. If the vst is bad it will vent into the inlet manifold and gas will leak out the bottom. I had same problem and changed everything from the gas tank to the seporator even the injectors.
 
Up date , after changeing filters and a number of sensors the engine runs on 3 cylinders until it warms up, runs 10 minutes under load. Then all 6 kick in and it runs like a raped ape. Any body got a clue?
