2004 df140 4 stroke stalling at low rpm

Good evening..

Sorry for the repost, I title was not clear and would not allow me to edit it.

Just bought a used 22' Hurricane with a df140 that has 250 hours on it.

Seems to run well, idling at 1000, maxing out a 6500 and 34 mph. Gets up well and runs quiet, though it seems to run a little bit slower than the original testing in 2004 (should be about 40 at WOT).

Having a little trouble at low throttle. If I engage forward or backward and put load at 1000-1200 rpm, I get a semi frequent stall. I have run a half a tank with Mercury Quikleen, but have done nothing else.

Boat was in drystorage and used only 4 times over last year. Last maintenance was April '09.

Thoughts are appreciated.

That could be the IAC sticking - from the manual

The ECM controls the idle speed using the idle air control
valve. The IAC valve motor varies air flowing into a
dedicated passage in the intake manifold.
Symptoms of a faulty IAC valve include stalling when
the engine is shifted into gear, too slow or rough idle or
excessively high idle speed. The engine usually performs
correctly at higher speeds.
Check the operation of the motor by reading the diagnostic
codes as described in Diagnostic
System.
