1983 engine, rope start. Part I want to confirm part no. of is shown in my Johnson Instruction Book as a hub assembly. It's black plastic and links via a rod to the shift lever and the other side had indents bearing against a strip of spring steel. The plastic is stamped 323657 but this number comes up as being the shift lever when I checked on the net. Any help much appreciated.

Yes, "shift lever" is what BRP is calling it and it's shockingly cheap at $7.94.

Part# 0323657 located under,"Cylinder & Crankcase". A little hard to see, but it's lower right on schematic.

Buy it right here on Marineengine, com

Oh yah, If you find you need a little more throttle opening in neutral - one of the notches limits throttle movement in neutral. You can grind off some of the plastic - we use a cordless dremel and do it right in place. Blow out the shavings.

BTW, BRP calls the shift handle(F/N/R) a "shift lever & shaft assembly" and NLA.
