Waterpump Problem 1976 85hp

I have a 1976 85 horse Evinrude with the waterpump out, ebay has one for a 1978 Evinrude, my question is....will it work on my 1976 model?

The impeller is the same...not sure about the housing, etc.

Thanks for the info, I replaced the impeller....everything is fine now. Appreciate your help very much.
