Ted Williams 4.5 HP

Hi All,
I'm new to this website and am hoping you can help me. I have my grandfathers old motor and was hoping to enjoy some fishing in the coming days. Before enjoying it, I need to start the motor. It has not been used in 5-10 years. I pulled out the spark plug and will sand it down to get a good spark. Is there anything else you'd recommend? I'm going to mix it with either 24:1 or 50:1 oil/gas mixture. I'm going to put in premium gas first. I'm really going to cross my fingers and hope it works. Please if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it!

You need to post the model # and year , it makes it easier to give the advice You need.
I'm not sure of the mix ratio so don't mix untill
you know for sure.

I am looking at an original owners manual for a 4.5 hp Ted Williams (Model 217.59464) and it states 32:1. I bought this motor from my great uncle, who bought it new. Its been a great runner.
