Hi All. Still working on my 1978 115 rude.Starboard side top and bottom cylinders running perfect. Port side not hitting. At about 2600 rpm on muffs the lower port cyl. will try to "wake up". But nothing from the other one. Afraid to rev much higher out of the water. Will it hurt it? Have very good spark, will jump the length of the boot, is blue with a loud snap. Pulled carbs, it has 2 two barrels that each side shares. cleaned all jets and replaced with new gaskets but still won't run right. It seems odd that one side runs good and the other side doesn't with common carbs. Changed power pack and both coils to no avail. Took plugs out of star. side and installed in port. No help. If you guys can't help, it's a trip to the shop that I can't afford. Thanx for any help. tgh3fan

Re: Dead port side cylinders

Did you actually remove and clean the high speed jets that are located in the bottom center portion of the carburetor float chambers? If not, do so. Fuel must flow thru those jets before it can gain passageway to any other fuel passage. Sounds like the two high speed jets on the port side are clogged solid.
