Please see attached photo. Motor has oil on outside in 3 spots. I have drawn arrows on photo. I assume they are lubrication points. Two are where the engine pivots side to side and the other is by the prop. Is it leaking or is this normal? Also, both spark plugs were backed out halfway. They couldn't have been THAT loose. Is that a winterizing trick?

Not unusual to see spots on older motors. Maybe that is why you don't see so many light colored motors these days. Doesn't mean the spots aren't there. Just not as noticeable. Upper 2 spots likely just road dust that collected going down the road. Bottom spot, I would look at a seal kit for the lower unit. If someone fogged the cylinders when the motor was stored they may not have tightened the plugs. Not a winterizing trick that I know of as far as leaving the plugs half out.
