When Idling it gets to a point where it's about to turn off. At that point I push the key (choke) and it gets smooth. A mechanic that repaired my VRO for me says the problem is not the VRO it's carbs and that it's very possible that if I take it out and open it a while that whatever small item may be in a jet will pass and clear up my problem. What do YOU think?/George

Sounds like fouled carbs to me. If VRO was bad, pushing in key (primer solenoid engaged) would have no effect as fuel would not be available to primer solenoid.

I just mentioned the VRO but that was repaired for a bad nipple problem. I was just trying to get an opinion on the suggestion about running it open during a short ride.
