Oil Leak

Oil leaking out of prop shaft, and where you unbolt leg. Wondering if this means the oil/fuel ratio is too lean or? Basically been idling in my driveway for almost a week, maybe 30 mins a day trying to make some repairs. Heard it could just be from idling?

Oh, motor is a 73' 65hp
 
Check the coloration of the liquid with the actual gearcase lube (at the drain plug).

A nasty black substance is usually just the excess mixture draining down thru the inner soot covered exhaust housing.
