2006 yamaha 90hp 2cycle fuel intake problem

some times when cruising, the fuel cuts off and engine wants to shut off, i have to prime the fuel line to get it going. i already tried replacing the hand pump, but it still has the same problem. has anyone had a similar experience or know what could be causing this?
