2005 150hp 4stroke shifting?

I just acquired an 05 pontoon with an 05 150 on it. It runs great but it doesn't have as positive a nuetral shift in and out as I'm am used to on the 115s we have. It seems to slide through the shift versus feeling a definite "lock" into nuetral. Thus if you shift slowly you hear the gears going in and out of forward or reverse more than I'm used to. Is there an adjustment that modifies the shift in and out of neutral?

remove your boat from the water and open the magnetic drain screw and check condition of the bolt. if their is little big chips then you might have a problem
in your gear box.
