Yamabond 4 vs Permabond Red

Can I use Permatex Threadlocker Red in place of the Yamabond 4 for my saltwater outboard or is the Yamabond 4 the only one to use. Thanks :confused:
 
I removed the steering arm and thus had to disassemble most of the motor. The Yamaha manual tells you to use the Yamabond 4 on the lower unit bolts, large engine dampener bolts, etc. Can I substitute Permatex threadlocker RED?
