Annode protection for Yamaha

Hi, New to all this boating lark. Am I correct int hinking my outbaord should have an annode or annodes fitted somewhere on the legt o reduce corrosion. I keep it out of the water when not in sue, launching from a trailer but I do use the boat in sea water.

Yes, you should have 1 or 2 on the motor. One is usually just above the skag under the trim tab and the other one is usually on the motor bracket that attaches to the boat. Look up the diagram for your motor to see where it is or call a dealer.....AL
 
So as long as I don't leave the boat in water for long periods of time I don't need them? The boat will probably be in the sea for 2 weekends a month the rest of the time washed in fresh water and stored on land.

Annodes or no annodes?
