Sea King 5.5 ID Help?

I picked this small outboard up attached to an 8ft Avon Zodiac...anyway, I now realize I think it looks like someone may have tried to alter the numbers embossed on the engine tag/label plate.

Can anyone recognize any of the numbers below what I am merely gleaning off the letters and numbers I am trying to make out? :confused:

Label shows:

CLINTON ENGINE CORP., Maqoketa, Iowa

Serial 16112_9
Model XTY or KTV ? 50505 B
Type K505 611 16 B (?)

"8PK 5056116 SER 31093" (Stamped on the cylinder shroud)

KTV50505 is the model number. The type K505 points to the Clinton K505 model that the Sea King was based on. Serial #16112_9 points to the 1980 model (if Sea Kings ran the Clinton serial numbers).
