Removing prop

We have a 1985 Volvo Penta DP290 stern drive with a spun prop. The port, outside prop, has a 3/8 jam bolt in the center of the nut and the nut takes a 15/16" socket. After removing the jam bolt, I was unable to break the 15/16 nut loose. And advice?

Thanks Bob. Actually we have an over-powered 60' houseboat with 2 Volvo Diesel engines with these outdrives. We were hoping to do something without pulling the boat.

Sounds like fun...I also have a 60' house boat with Swedish Twins installed, only mine has the reverse or V-drive and Velvet gears. I think, you should be able to get them off without pulling the boat out, a small skiff should make it easy. Remember to use anti-seize compound when going back on. Use on the nut and prop shaft and this is the last time you will have this problem.
