I have a 1999 rebuilt Mercury 2.5 carb outboard 200hp. It has only 20 or so hours on it and generally operates well except that the oil tank on the motor itself constantly runs low, even after being filled up manually. IF I do this it will run for about 15 min and then the alarm will go off. The cap on tank located on the engine has split before and been replaced, but for some reason it will not hold any significant amount of oil in the tank. the alarm goes off as it should, however I am not sure if there is a leak in the hose or what. Please let me know if you can help as fishing season is starting and I need to get her back up and running! thx
