2000 60 hp Mercury Start problem

I have a 60 hp Mercury outboard 2000.( bought new) this problem has been there since almost brand new. The motor starts up fine after a good pumping of the primer bulb and a choke. The problem is that when I go out fishing, throughout the day, I'll shut it down to fish then when I try to start it up again it's a real chore to start up. This dosent happen everytime, but about half the time. Sometimes it will pop right off. I have to remove the fuel line and crank it over till it starts, then hook the fuel line back up. Its what seems to work the best.

Sounds like you're flooding it. Try this: Don't choke it all and, when it's cranking over (but not started), try just a bit of 'choke' (a misnomer for the carbs deliberately flood to start it).

Thanks Jeff but did that. I rebuilt the carbs over the weekend took it out and runs real good no probs but gonna have to wait till the weather warms up and see how things go.... half hour out dosent really tell me much atm. :)
