was out trolling at the end of last year and ran the afternoon without the cap loosed on the tank. vacuum built up in the tank (lots) until the motor stalled. could not restart and assumed I had an airlock(rowed in), Now I still can't start. Motor will idle for a few secs if I place a little fuel in the sparkplug hole.... but fuel system will not prime. Have I ruptured a diaphram in the fuel pump? Is there a bleed screw to eliminate an airlock? Any comments appreciated

Sounds like the pump is shot. Pull it apart and check diaphrams, and check all the vaccum lines. you can also pull the feed line off the pump, pump primer and see if you get any fuel.
