1985 Mercury 150 hp

Just did a tune up on my '85 Mercury 150, rebuild carbs, new fuel lines, water pump kit, replaced all water lines, thermostates, spark plugs, spark plug wires, lower unit gear oil change. Brought the family camping this weekend and I Bass Fished the entire time, and my boat ran great. if there is anything that should be done on a major tune up please let me know, because I dont think anything has ever been done to this outboard before me.

Sounds like you got all the mechanical "stuff" - did you grease up everything that moves on the bracket (check for grease nipples), cowl latch, steering cable, shift/throttle cables (and their assemblies) etc...

Greased anything that moves, did not grease throttle/shifter cabeles, were would i do that? were they connect to the outboard?

now I just need to get a new tilt trim motor and I will be inem!!!!

I had so much fishing in my own boat.


best $1600 I have ever spent
