I have a 1970 Mercury 50 hp Thunderbolt. I have a part located on the right side of the motor with two wires going to and from it. The part is approximately 1/2 inch wide and about an 1 1/4 long. One wire comes from the rectifier and the other wire comes out of it and to ground. The wire on the part is approximately 15 inches long. I can not locate a diagram showing this part. Does anyone know what it would be. I was thinking maybe a condensor or a sensor. Any help would be appreciated.
