outboard reliability recommendations 9.9

Greetings fellow boaters. I am a newbie. I recently purchased a 12 ft. fiberglass boat. I have medical issues with my heart. so reliability is a must. A fellow boater recommended either a Mercury, or Yamaha. You folks seem to know what you are talking about, and I could really use your help. I intend to lake and river fish. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I am chomping at the bit to drown some worms.
 
All brands are very reliable in small engines. But, you may want to get a Tohatsu/Nissan/Mercury due to their being the least heavy.
 
Just be sure you buy a TWO cylinder motor. Those one cylinder jobs are bad news if a plug fouls. You can get back on half the cylinders on a twin, but....
