Tilt Trim unit removal on 1987 Merc 90

"Is there a "trick" to

"Is there a "trick" to remove the pin/screw that holds the center piston onto the motor? I get all the other nuts removed and the tilt/trim unit free except for this. There is a wide screw like slot on the left side but I don't seem to be able to get it to turn. Before I go at it again I thought I'd ask for advice. Also, can I get the unit out without removing the filler and pressure release screw?"

There is another pin "tri-lobe" holding that piviot. It has a nail head on it that can be pried out. Don't reuse it.

"I don't recall seeing anything like that. I saw a small hole about in the center of the pivot, and on the side opposite of the slotted end there appeared to be some type of retainer. Is this what you were referring to? I don't recall anything that looked like a nailhead. Thanks in advance for your help."
