I have that year model 115.
Some of the wiring had to be redone.The stator had to be replaced for the same resone.Merc used cheap wire in the 80,s But i have found it ez to work on ,i got got a selok manuel from this site a Merc book would have been better. But if it has good compresion the other things can be fixed mine runs great
