"Currently my inboard strainer
"Currently my inboard strainers are located forward of the raw water intake, near the V drive. This puts them under the salon floor making then a real PITA to check and clean.
I would like to relocate them aft under the cockpit sole so I can check them at the same time I check engine oil and coolant. This would result in about 8' to 10' additional hose between the raw water intake and the V drive; 4' to 5' aft then return. All of it would be below the water line.
Question: Is this too much and would it restrict water flow too much?
