"Hello.

We had a 9HP Yanmar 1GM10 fitted into a 13' clinker launch a few years ago replacing a Stuart Turner 4HP petrol engine.

I was surprised to see that the boatbuilder kept the original stuart propeller, and suspect this may have a lot to do with the slow speeds we're getting from the boat. I would be very grateful for any advice on a change of propeller that could be better matched, or any propellers you know work well with this engine in a similar size boat?

Thanks
Ben"

"Find out what reduction you have on your reverse gear. Get displacement weight, waterline length. Contact a good propeller dealer/manufacturer and give him your information. What size prop are you running now?
The 1GM 10 top RPM is 3600 and should run under load at 3000 rpm, this is where you get best torque and fuel economy."
