I recently bought a mega 25 an

I recently bought a mega 25 and installed 40 hp carbs on it I was told by my mechanic i could make it a 50 by changing carbs and exhaust tuner. Not to be a doubting Thomas because i have limited mechanical experience but it seems like you may have to also change the reeds and adjust timing?

Thanks I was hoping it was you who would reply I was always told the mega was a 40 d detuned with 25 carbs so what I was wondering is does the 50 d have the same heads and what do you need for the swap
 
"Depends on the serial number

"Depends on the serial number of the engine. Some are completely different engines. Some 40Ds and 50ds are the same except for the carbs, pipe and timing."
