"didnt think bout the gear rat

"didnt think bout the gear ratio have to check into that also. when you dealing with junk you'll do anything for cheap horsepower. legalities, legalities"

"Without changing the gears yo

"Without changing the gears you would end up with more torque at the low end but would gain next to nothing at wide open unless you dropped a couple hundred extra bucks on a new prop.

So just open the wallet a little wider

Or you could just sell your 40 (which is a popular horsepower) and buy a used 60 for a thousand bucks or less...."

thats just it the jet units ar

thats just it the jet units are the same on both so won't need a prop at all. I've got access to a blown 60 jet so there isn't gonna be that much involved cost wise just was wanting to know if thats the difference and if anyone has actually done this with success. don't seem to matter so much on the mph cause won't get more than 25 mph anyway but really need the holeshot in the river to get up and over the rocks.

"Since that motor is 59 cubes

"Since that motor is 59 cubes for 40, 50 and 60 hp models, the torque it produces--which is what you need--is close for all three models. The hp increase comes in mainly at higher rpms.

Jeff"
