This particular carb (sometimes referred to as a "type B" built either by Tillotson or possibly an early Walbro depending on the exact date your motor was manufactured) was one of Mercs first with an integrated fuel pump.

The service instructions I have are "overhaul the fuel pump each time the carb is disassembled""
