I have a 92 NS 90A how many cranking amps are recommended for a battery for that motor?

"It depends on who you talk to. Originally a 650 CCA battery would do it. Now, I would suggest at least an 800 CCA due to resistance build up in the wiring/cables....Not a dumb question

- Do I want a Marine deep cycle, or marine starting battery? Whats the diff?"

1000 CCA on a TLDI.

Deep cy

1000 CCA on a TLDI.

Deep cycle batteries have more durable plates inside so that they can withstand more charge/discharge cycles.

Starting batteries sacrifice the durability to achieve more available amps for cranking.

You want a starting battery for the engine.
