"My manual doesn't say for sure whether the idle setting idex should be set in neutral or forward gear. Does anyone know for sure?

If it is in forward gear, it indexes ok at idle and full throttle. In neutral, the index at idle is 1/2" off and it will throw off the full setting if the cam is adjusted. Thanks."

adv throttle,till throttle roller touches cam,it should be aligned at this point.if not,adj screw on rlr..
next,shift to forward,eng NOT running,...open up to WOT,roll pin on throttle shaft should be vertical,if not adj if necc,adj throttle CAM....no WOT timing adj necc.
this is the usual on all 9.9 15's w/a slight varience,on roller cam."
