Installing a Tohatsu Tach 2009 30 hp

"Hi,

Hopefully you guys can help. I have a 2009 tohatsu 30hp EFI four stroke. Remote model on my center console J16. I need to install the tach that goes with this model. I was told to order this part number:

3N8-72640-1

I have the tach, but the only wires on the remote that seem to hook up to are for the oil warning light. Any idea of a wiring scheme/diagram? Will this hook directly up to the harness on the remote or is there something under the hood of the engine for this?

Okay - got the harness and installed it. It works, except that I think it is set wrong. It reads about 4500 or 5000 rpms at idle.

I know that is wrong - and there is a selector switch on the back. Something about poles?

Which one do I choose?

2009 tohatsu 30hp 4stroke EFI remote

Any advice would be appreciated!
