"hi all 76 4.5hp,pulled lower unit put in water pump,is there a trick to put l/u back on,where shifter works,does it have to be in gear or neutral,thanx"
 
Been using neutral. Put thr LU

Been using neutral. Put thr LU and shifter in neutral and have someone turn the flywheel to engage the splines.
