hi i have a johnson 9.9 seahor

hi i have a johnson 9.9 seahorse. just wanted to know if any body could please tell me the year of my motor.on the top of the motor the stamp reads M A0138875. THANKS

"If ID plate missing from transom clamp look around the power head for a core plug (about 3/4" diameter)with model number and serial numbers stamped on it
9.9 started in 1974 so if before 1980 we are looking for a number begining 10, followed by a group of letters, followed by the year ie 74, 75 etc

If 1980 or latter we are looking for J10 maybe preceded by another letter but followed by a group of letters two of which will tell us the year."

hi mate i had a look and am thinking it must be a 1975 model. MODEL#10R75C SERIAL#138875 STAMP ON TOP OF ENGINE M A0138875
