"This motor is a J10Rena with a manual starter.
When mountes on a 14' aluminum boat it used to get up and go. Now it won't hardly get up on plane. There is a large amount of oil coming out just below the hood which it didn't do before.
The motor is new to me. The original owner bought it new and showed us the receipt. He said he only used it about 3x when his big motor ran out of fuel.
It has about 100# compression on each cylinder.
There is a blue/orange spark jump of 7/16".
New fuel pump and carb kits.
When opening the throttle the throttle plate begins to move and is vertical at full throttle.
I pulled one plug wire at a time and lost a bit of power but still ran.
Could a coil be operating and not working at full power?
Someone mentioned it might have a weak trigger magnet or timer base.
There is no power pack on this model.
It has a new re-designed plastic carb cover installed.
That's all I can think of.
