"I have a NS 3.5A SN 92XXX that starts easily but will only run a minute or two and then dies. Once I ran it at idle speed for over 30 minutes but once I moved the trottle above idle speed, it died. Help."
 
Almost certainly the carbureto

Almost certainly the carburetor. I would suggest you take the engine into a dealer and have that carburetor cleaned correctly.
