"Experienced recent highspeed "pounding" which I think was partial seizure of my J15RCCS engine from overheating due to a partial water blockage. Tear down showed slight scoring of top cylinder. Also, excess gasket materiel found blocking waterflow in water supply tube (appearently factory install problem finally occuring many years later). I have honed the cylinders and intend to replace the top piston. Any recommendations before reassembly?
Second: My 11 ft Boston Whaler is rated for 20 HP. 15 HP is a little under size but OK. While rebuilding this engine, including the carb, any recommendation on how to get more HP out of this little engine? Jetting... cylinder head work... fly wheel...reed valves... etc?
