Mercruiser stalling 1999 5.7

"I have a 1999 Regal with 5.7 efi that hesitates and stalls occasionally.I Start engine and let idle till operating temp. then try to pull away from dock and it wants to stall, I have to work (feather) the throttle to keep it from stalling.This happens for awhile and then later becomes intermittent.Any one have any ideas?"

"I have 2000 Mercruiser, 5L efi. On smooth flat water runs great, When under a load such as current or ocean conditions the engine cuts out and the tach goes nuts. Changed most all things such as coil wiring even had the heads valve job. wonder if the computer module could be bad, or if maybe the tach sensor or just what? really getting frustrated!!!!!!!}"
