"Hi,I have put a tacho part no 79-859674a1 on a 2cyl mariner 40 circa 1980s 2T this eng is elec start but has a recoil start also and i do not have any history of this eng . the tacho came off a 3cyl mariner 50 2t and is set on 6pulse .on the 40 tickover is 600rpm and at 1600rpm i am doing 20knots which seems low revs for this speed,does the pulse button need to be moved,if so what to, Thanks RR"
