Can anyone tell me why Tohatsu

Can anyone tell me why Tohatsu changed the exhaust to such a small pipe on the D2 model
and why was the decition made to change the Head and Cam

My problem is the TLDI has the old D1 Exhaust but the D2 has a much smaller exhaust losing power on top end which is big prop problem for the Std and Blueprint Class as we lose torque in the upper end of rev range, gain a bit in the middle"
