"One of my v drives now has a small leak at the shift
lever. I tried to tighten it down and only slowed it a bit. In my manual I see the bolt, washers, lever, and steel ball, and spring. But I can not see the detail beyond that.

Before I take it apart, I was wondering if someone else experienced this problem, and if so, I hope I could get some guidance. I was hoping there would be a seal or grommet that needs to be replaced."

"Remove the shift lever and cable(s). Be careful not to loose the spring or ball. On the other side of the trans at the same spot, remove the neutral sensor switch (3 7/16? bolts). The entire assembly can then be pushed through. There is a o-ring on there that probably needs to be replaced. While you are at the parts place for the o-ring, might as well get the gasket for the neutral switch. Installation is reverse of removal."
