I have what I think is a 3 cy

I have what I think is a 3 cylinder Yamaha 50 h/p
the number plate is gone
how do I find out what it is?

" The Yamaha is not my line of expertise but seeing as how it has been copied from the OMC outboards, I would strongly suspect that there would be what looks like a freeze out plug, called a core plug, located on the powerhead assy (block) somewhere, and would be about the size of a US quarter. The first number would be the model number, with the second number being the serial number. The "Model Number" would be the one that would designate the year, horsepower, etc. (Joe - 30+ years with OMC) "

" Call your local Yamaha deale

" Call your local Yamaha dealership and tell them what those numbers are. They'll tell you what you've got. I know the code for OMC but Yamaha's code is something I'm not aware of. However, if you list those numbers here, I'm sure that one of our Yamaha people will fill in that info also. "
