can anyone help with the count

can anyone help with the counter rotational engine in this boat.
what is the firing order ? did they run a different crank. i have tried firing order backwards staring with 8 in the number 1 position and so on ie 84562731
have started one engine no probs.(std)
the other engines distributor still runs the same way so as to run the oil pump (reversed gear on distributor.

"It is, but the wires are arranged backwards on the distributor cap. Cylinder # 1 is in the same place.

I also managed to contact a local mercruiser mechanic who backed up what you said !
