My block is cracked and I'

My block is cracked and I'm looking for a motor to either rebuild or a short block. Problem is they are either hard to find or very expensive when you do find one. I'm in North Carolina and if anyone has any info of engines in my area please respond. Thanks

Bill I'd say if you are trying to fix this for less than a grand you have a long search ahead of you.
Try slavage auctions but watch close for engines that have been under. If you get a deal on a whole boat you can sell the drive and what other good parts are left to re-coupe some of the cost.
