"All,
I have 1988 twin 5.7's fresh water cooled, the type with the thru hull & seawater pump on the motor, not the outdrive. The manual talks about draining the risers. One problem, my risers do not have any drain holes like illustrated in the shop manual? The prevous owner when I purchased the boat told me the risers were replaced with Mercruiser stainless risers. I did not know these even existed. Shouldn't they still have drains? I disconnected the raw water hose from the thru hull and ran the pink stuff through till it came out the transome. Do you think I am safe?"
