I have a mid 90's 3.0. It

I have a mid 90's 3.0. It has the electronic ignition/distributer. I am considering buying a late 80's 3.0. Will there be any problem converting this older engine to work with the system I have. The current engine has a cracked block.
 
No! Enery thing will bolt up

No! Enery thing will bolt up the same. Except the fly wheel. In 91 they went to a one piece rear main seal on the 3.0L and it requires a different flywheel. If the late 80's engine has one on it then bolt up the rest and be done.

Actually my boat is a 90' The mechanic that looked at it said the engine must be newer because of the electronic ignition. So I should be in good shape?.?
